How to check if your Slimbook has the latest BIOS and EC version

There are several ways to determine if your Slimbook has the latest BIOS and EC update. In this brief tutorial, we'll detail a few methods, but first, we need to know the installed BIOS version.

From Linux:

1. Using the command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version

2. Or through our software:
slimbook service

From Windows:

It's very similar on Windows. You can use the native System Information application or execute a simple command:

1. System information:  Search for "System Information," and here you'll find the BIOS version.

2. Using cmd: Execute the following command: wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion

- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog and type cmd.

- Execute the command wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion

From BIOS:

You can check the version you're accessing in the BIOS
[F2] and on the main page or "Main," you should see the sections "BIOS version" and "EC version." Then compare the version numbers of the BIOS and EC with the downloaded zip file and its name.

For example, "Executive14_Intel12thH_BIOSN105GRU08_EC147.00.zip" would have the BIOS version N.1.05GRU08 and EC version 1.47.00.00.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, here are specific markings:
