What is Slimbook Notifications?
Slimbook Notifications is a new feature we've developed for Slimbook Service. It allows you to receive desktop notifications whenever there's an important notice. For example, if there's a new BIOS/EC version available for your device, you'll receive an instant notification to stay informed.
All notifications are filtered based on your specific Slimbook model. You won't receive notifications that don't pertain to your particular device. So, if you have an Executive 11th Generation, the notifications you receive will be different from those for someone with an Elemental or an Executive 13th Generation.
How can I enable or disable it?
To take advantage of this new functionality, make sure you have the latest version of Slimbook Service installed. If you haven't already, follow the steps outlined in the Slimbook Service tutorial
.
Once you have the latest version installed, you'll find a new option called "Check Notifications" in the Preferences section. If you prefer not to receive notifications, you can disable this option, and no alerts will be sent to you.
When you receive a new notification, it will appear in your system's notification bar. Additionally, the application icon will display a blue circle, indicating unread notifications.
You'll also have access to the notification history in Slimbook Notifications -> Notifications, so you won't miss any important messages.
Where is the notifications feed?
The feed from which Slimbook Notificacions is fed is located at out Github repository. It consists of one xml file per language, so we can notify you according to your system configuration.
Will I receive commercial information? (NO)
It's important for you to know that we won't use Slimbook Notifications to send you commercial offers, advertisements, or similar content. It's focused on important information, such as Linux Kernel issues that could affect your device's proper functioning, BIOS/EC updates, and more.
