Find out the model/code of your Slimbook
Don't know the model of your device? Continue reading

If you know that you are using a Slimbook but you don't know what model it is or what its code is, this tutorial will help you to find out. You have several ways to check it:

From Linux:

 1. Using our software slimbook service. By clicking on System information you will get the main information about your computer, including its code, in the "Product" attribute.

2. From a terminal, you will have to launch the command “dmidecode” as sudo.

sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name

Your Slimbook code will appear on the screen.

From Windows:

An easy way is to see it from the system information. For it we press the key Windows/Tux, we will type System or System Information and we will click in the corresponding application. In both cases we will obtain the required information.

In System, under About, appears in the subtitle of the equipment name, at the top of the screen.

In System Information, under System Summary, in System Model or BaseBoard Product attributes.

Another way is to get it from a command prompt or terminal. Press the Windows/Tux key, type “terminal” or “cmd” and execute. Once the console is open, we will use the wmic command which, among other multiple uses, allows us to obtain information about the system. We will launch the following command:

wmic computersystem get SystemSKUNumber

In this way we will be obtaining the SystemSKUNumber system attribute, del sistema, que será justo el que nos interesa

Physically

In most of our equipment you can see a sticker or silkscreen on the bottom of the equipment where you can see, among other information, the laptop model and its code. Simply turn the laptop over. This is the bottom of the Excalibur:

From the website

You will be able to see the Slimbook model you purchased from the summary of the purchase order (here you will not see its code). To do this, first, access our website and log in with your email and password. Once logged in, click on the top right where your name appears, next to the language selector, and click on My account.

Once here you will see a list of sections. You have to click on “Sales orders”.

Now you will have to click on the laptop sale order.

On the order summary screen, at the bottom where it says “Products” will be listed what you purchased. You will see that the laptop starts with the model name, in this case an Excalibur. Here you will also see some other features such as screen size or processor, but not the code.

From the BIOS

A last option, which is independent of the operating system you use, is to get it directly from the BIOS. In all cases you will be able to see it on the main screen.

To enter the BIOS you will have to press a different key depending on which Slimbook you have. Check your computer's startup guide to find out which key to press. Usually that key is F2. Press it repeatedly right after the computer starts booting and you will enter the BIOS.

There are several types of BIOS and in each one the code will appear in a different section, or even not at all. Usually it will be in the Main or System Information screen, in a Product Name attribute. We show you an example with an American Megatrends BIOS that some of our equipments have.
