Rule out RAM failure/error with Memtest86+

Hello everyone!

When a computer has problems, there is a tool called Memtest86+ to rule out if it is a failure originating from the RAM's themselves.

Secure boot must be disabled

Here are the steps and how to perform the test:

  1. Usb flash drive empty.

  2. Download the  Memtest86+ tool from the official website.

  3. Locate the correct ISO, in our case, the Linux ISO (64 bits), but you can also download it for Windows.

  4. Install the ISO using any bootable USB creator, such as  balenaEtcher, Rufus o Ventoy (the easiest)

  5. Reboot your computer and, upon restarting, access the boot menu to select your USB with Memtest86+.

  6. Once inside the blue Memtest86+ screen, press "Enter" and the test will begin. The duration of the test can vary depending on the RAM's speed.

  7. After the test completes, it will display "FAIL" or "PASS"

Once the test is finished, either because the FAIL or PASS notification has appeared, you can safely turn off your Slimbook.

We recommend contacting Slimbook's warranty department so that our agents can advise you on how to proceed.
