Problemas críticos de rendimiento y estabilidad en Slimbook Creative (Ryzen AI 9 365 + 5070)

Hola a todos,

Ayer recibi mi nuevo Slimbook Creative (Ryzen AI 9 365 + RTX 5070) y quería compartir mi experiencia, ya que ha sido un poco frustrante. Aún no he contactado con soporte oficial, seguramente lo har'e despues de trabajar un dia entero en el laptop sin tener que reinstallar y testear.

Desde el primer momento, el equipo no ofrecía el rendimiento esperado para un hardware de esta gama. Abrir carpetas, la calculadora o un editor de texto simple mostraba un retardo notable (iconos de carga persistentes), lo cual es inaceptable para una máquina de este calibre. Además, sufrí un cuelgue total del sistema que obligó a un reinicio forzoso.

Problemas detectados:

  • Software Slimbook: En la interfaz de configuración, si abro "System Information" y luego intento acceder a submenús como "Notificaciones", las nuevas ventanas se abren detrás de la principal, dejando la aplicación bloqueada. La única forma de cerrarlo es mediante "Exit" en el icono del tray.

  • Glitches visuales: Presentes desde la instalación de fábrica en Fedora. Incluso tras una instalación limpia de Fedora, los errores gráficos persistían.

  • Inestabilidad en Pop!_OS 24.04 (COSMIC): Experimenté glitches graves que ocupaban media pantalla. Solo logré mitigarlos reduciendo la tasa de refresco de 180Hz a 60Hz, aunque no desaparecieron del todo.

Tras probar varias configuraciones híbridas (sin éxito), he instaladPop!_OS 22.04 LT. Finalmente, he logrado estabilidad configurando el equipo exclusivamente en modo "NVIDIA Only". En este modo, el sistema se siente instantáneo y la lentitud en tareas básicas ha desaparecido

Creo que el sistema de gestión de doble GPU es la raíz de la inestabilidad. La configuración "híbrida" (PRIME) no parece estar bien resuelta para este modelo, provocando micro-stutters, cuelgues y fallos de renderizado en el escritorio. Alguien con experiencias similares? Hab'eis encontrado la estabilidad en el Creative? Con que distribuci'on de Linux? Por que?

Estaba ilusionado con esta maquina. Habia usado Mint en macbook pro, y otras distros en workstations de trabajos, o sea que no soy un usuario experto en Linux, pero ya iniciado si. Me sorprende que una máquina con este potencial llegue de fábrica con una configuración de software que parece no estar probada para este hardware. Mi equipo cuenta con 32GB de RAM y 1TB de almacenamiento.

 

¿Alguien más con este modelo está experimentando estos problemas o fallos en las utilidades de Slimbook? Agradecería mucho cualquier feedback o experiencia similar.

Hello everyone,

I received my new Slimbook Creative (Ryzen AI 9 365 + RTX 5070) yesterday and I would like to share my experience, as it has been a bit frustrating. I have not yet contacted official support; I plan to do so after working a full day on the laptop without having to reinstall and test things.

From the very first moment, the computer did not offer the performance expected for hardware of this tier. Opening folders, the calculator, or a simple text editor showed a noticeable delay (persistent loading icons), which is unacceptable for a machine of this caliber. Additionally, I suffered a total system freeze that forced a hard reboot.

Issues detected:

  • Slimbook Software: In the settings interface, if I open "System Information" and then try to access submenus like "Notifications," the new windows open behind the main one, leaving the application locked. The only way to close it is by clicking "Exit" on the tray icon.

  • Visual Glitches: Present since the factory installation of Fedora. Even after a clean installation of Fedora, the graphics errors persisted.

  • Instability in Pop!_OS 24.04 (COSMIC): I experienced severe glitches that occupied half the screen. I only managed to mitigate them by reducing the refresh rate from 180Hz to 60Hz, although they did not disappear entirely.

After trying several hybrid configurations (without success), I installed Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS. Finally, I have achieved stability by configuring the machine exclusively in "NVIDIA Only" mode. In this mode, the system feels instantaneous, and the slowness in basic tasks has disappeared.

I believe the dual-GPU management system is the root of the instability. The "hybrid" (PRIME) configuration does not seem to be well-resolved for this model, causing micro-stutters, freezes, and rendering glitches on the desktop. Is there anyone with similar experiences? Have you found stability on the Creative? With which Linux distribution? And why?

I was excited about this machine. I have used Mint on MacBook Pros and other distros on workstations, so while I am not an expert Linux user, I am definitely an experienced one. I am surprised that a machine with this potential arrives from the factory with a software configuration that does not seem to be tested for this hardware. My machine has 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Is anyone else with this model experiencing these problems or failures in the Slimbook utilities? I would greatly appreciate any feedback or similar experiences.
