Slow wake up from sleep (Executive 14 13700H)

Hi,

I am experiencing a slow wake up from suspension (lid closed). It takes around 15s for the GDM screen to appear. I am trying to check system logs, there is a couple of periods where the wake up process is halted. I am not sure if I can attach logs to the post, but here are the offending lines:

Aug 11 17:16:06 jaime-laptop systemd-sleep[29949]: System returned from sleep operation 'suspend'.
Aug 11 17:16:06 jaime-laptop kernel: PM: suspend exit
Aug 11 17:16:14 jaime-laptop systemd[1]: NetworkManager-dispatcher.service: Deactivated successfully.
Aug 11 17:16:21 jaime-laptop sudo[30149]: root : PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/intel-undervolt apply
Aug 11 17:16:21 jaime-laptop sudo[30149]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root(uid=0) by (uid=0)

Please let me know if you need more information and thanks in advance.

Good morning, Jaime,

Based on the logs you've shared, it appears that the NetworkManager-dispatcher.service is taking 8 seconds to wake up. This delay might be related to establishing or re-establishing network connections. Additionally, 7 seconds after the Network Manager service deactivates, there's a log entry indicating that intel-undervolt is being applied.

Here are some steps you can try to identify the issue:

1. Temporarily disable the NetworkManager-dispatcher.service for testing by running the following command:

sudo systemctl stop NetworkManager-dispatcher.service
After doing this, try to reproduce the issue.

2. If you have the Slimbook Intel Controller application installed, please note that it is not compatible with Ubuntu 24, and only works with Ubuntu 22 derivatives. If you have it installed, I recommend uninstalling it, as it could cause problems.

Give these steps a try and let us know if it resolves the issue.

Best regards.
