Sleep mode, fan keeps spinning

Avatar
KoperTin

After leaving my Slimbook Creative, which was turned on, and the next day turned it on again, the battery was completely empty. I then discovered that the fan keeps spinning in sleepmode (pauze mode). The battery is also empty pretty quick, because also at easy tasks, the fan stays on and sometimes stops. I think something is wrong with a proces. I asked ChatGPT and there not seems to be a S3 deepsleep, which can be turned on.

So how can I solve that my fan stops spinning in pause mode? And are there processes that are using to much CPU (or perhapst GPU?)

Hola @KoperTin,

En algunos casos funciona deshabilitando el "inicio rápido" en la configuración de energía.

¿Te falla tanto en modo suspender como en modo hibernar?

Gracias, saludos!

Hello KoperTin,

Try applying this setting: https://slimbook.com/en/blog/guides-2/post/fix-sleep-issues-on-linux-448

Best regards.

Hi Vaja, I had an option with AI and had changed this line. Should I change that?

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash resume=UUID=5b2d2875-95da-4df9-8bbf-54 mem_sleep_default=deep intel_idle.max_cstate=1"

In the meantime, I installed Slimbook battery, and it might have helped? Have to check whether it solves my problems.

Hello KoperTin,

I think this parameter is interfering: intel_idle.max_cstate=1

But before that try it without any parameters:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

And then suspend manually, not closing the lid and see if the power LED button starts blinking, if it does then it's suspended.

Best regards.

I have changed the line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash". Then I paused the laptop creative and then I saw a message on my laptop when I pauzed it. It is in the next picture. I can not post a picture, because of karma? What is this?

I found AI to type out the error from a picture. This is the error.

[11876.704186] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_SB.ACDC.RTAC], AE_NOT_FOUND (20240827/psargs-332)
