No, I didn't install any slimbook packages so far. After getting the laptop I reinstalled it immediately, with Debian stable (Debian 12.9).

Now, I just tried the instructions of https://github.com/Slimbook-Team/slimbook-qc71-dkms, but # apt-add-repository ppa:slimbook/slimbook failed :

$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:slimbook/slimbook

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'people'

I believe it has something to do with the new APT format (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/76688863/apt-add-repository-doesnt-work-on-debian-12)

I managed to create the repo manually :

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/slimbook/slimbook/ubuntu lunar main

but after apt update, there's only 1 package found in that repo (slimbookbattery)

(I chose Lunar because it's the last Ubuntu version based on Debian 12, I think).

What's the right way to install slimbook-qc71-dkms in Debian ?

The Debian 12 release is called Bookworm and the testing release is called Trixie.

However, please follow this tutorial to proceed with the installation.

Basically, your software suite can not be installed in Debian 12 (stable, bookworm), because of unmet dependencies.

This problem goes beyond the initial subject of this post. I opened a different one, if you or someone else wants to make some comments (https://slimbook.com/en/forum/community-forum-1/question/please-support-debian-stable-in-the-future-9548)

Problem solved. Indeed only slimbook-service had unmet dependencies, I did manage to install slimbook-qc71-dkms, and I now get the fans speed.
