Slimbook 5 - Exernal monitor question

Avatar

I recently purchased/received the Slimbook 5 and am impressed with the laptop so far.

I also recently bought an external monitor (the model with link below)

The Slimbook has usb-c display output:

2 USB-C 3.2 Gen2 [10Ggbps] with DisplayPort 1.4 + PowerDelivery 100W
Up to 3 external monitors, 1x HDMI + 2x USB-C over DisplayPort

When I connect USB-C to the display, there is no signal/display on the external monitor.
The Slimbook does make a 'connect' sound. The display has touchscreen, and the touchscreen works with the Slimbook (with black screen).

I can connect to the external touch-screen via HDMI, but then the touchscreen functionality is not available, and I need to power the external screen separately.

Connecting USB-C + HDMI to the laptop causes conflicts. (monitor switches between the two connections)

Is this issue because the touchscreen is  'USB-C over HDMI' and the laptop is 'USB-C over DisplayPort'?
Or possibly due to refresh rate or other issue?

Are there any cables / adapters to provide output to such a monitor, but then with power & data for the touchscreen?

Touchscreen:

Good afternoon,

That's correct, your KDE Slimbook V has two video outputs via USB-C.
I don't think the issue is related to the refresh rate or the cable, but I still recommend trying with the original cable of the external touchscreen monitor.
I believe the problem might be due to a lack of power. According to the specifications, some devices require external power to function.
What you can do is connect via USB-C to get the image and touch functionality and connect via USB-A for power (the USB-A output does not support video).

Try this and let us know if it works for you.
Best regards.

Thanks for your reply.

Great, that worked -- using the original cable.

It also works by using the USB-A for power/and touchscreen, and HDMI for video.

Best regards
