Good evening,
I have an EVO with Slimbook OS, for bluetooth reasons I updated to kernel 6.11.0-1011-oem.
I noticed that now the battery always charges to 100% even if I set 60% or 80% as the limit in the bios. Has anyone encountered the same problem?
(before updating the kernel the battery limit worked)
Thank you

Hi Leunam,
Same issue here, but in my case, I'm using KDE Neon
(basically Ubuntu 24.04 with the latest KDE Plasma 6.x). On this system,
the battery limit feature doesn't work with the default Ubuntu Kernel
6.8, nor with 6.10.x, 6.11.x, or 6.12.x. It doesn't work with any
kernel, even though the qc71_laptop
module is loaded. I thought the battery limit was supposed to be independent of the operating system...
Good morning,
Can you tell me what version of BIOS and EC you have installed in your computers?
You can check it in Slimbook Service and from the BIOS itself.
We have tested with these versions and it works correctly.
BIOS: N.1.14GOS02
EC: 2.06.00.000
Kind regards,
Good Morning Eusebio,
BIOS: N.1.14GOS02
EC: 2.6
I have the same version as yours, I can only say that until yesterday it didn't work, this morning I tried to change to 60% and it worked and now it also works at 80%... perhaps the bios had lost the setting for some reason, however it was solved by selecting another profile...(exact same thing yesterday but it didn't work..)
I take this opportunity to ask another question:
1: when it reaches the block, only power supply works?
2: inside the advanced bios I can select 85 and 100watt, do they refer to input or output?
Thanks, and sorry for the post because the problem resolved itself.
Good evening
I confirm, today I connected the charging cable and the limit didn't work.
I rebooted into the bios changed the settings and it works again.
I just wanted to let you know about this anomaly.
Good weekend
I have one last update if it helps.
This problem occurs every time the power supply is disconnected.
if you leave the PC turned off with the power supply connected, the PC remains stuck at the setting selected in the bios.
I don't know if it's intentional, or if it's a bios problem, I hope this information can be useful.
Has anyone else encountered the same problem?
still a good weekend everyone
Hi everyone,
We just released EC 2.07 which fixes the issue:
https://slimbook.com/downloads?ruta=Evo/Ryzen-8845HS/BIOS/
Now the charge limit is not removed when you disconnect and reconnect the charger.
The charge limit is maintained as long as you charge the laptop while it is on, if you disconnect it to take it to another place and in the other place you charge it while it is on, the charge limit will still be active.
However, it is not maintained if you charge the laptop while it is off, in this case it charges to 100%.
Regards,
Hi Alejandro,
I just have one more question, i can flash the EC only or i need to reflash the bios and EC?
