The health of lithium batteries depends on the number of charge cycles they undergo. Fully charging a battery to 100% shortens its overall lifespan.
Some of our Slimbook laptops feature a function called "FlexiCharger" or "Battery Maximum Limit" to limit the battery charge.

Remember to update to the latest BIOS and EC version to have the latest features available.Here's a tutorial on how to do it.

The models compatible with FlexiCharger are:

- Slimbook Elemental 14
- Slimbook Elemental 15
- Slimbook HERO·S
- Slimbook Essential 15
- Slimbook Essential 14

The models compatible with Battery Maximum Limit are:

- Slimbook Executive 14" 13Gen
- Slimbook Executive 16" 13Gen
- Slimbook Hero 13Gen
- Slimbook Executive 14" 12Gen
- Slimbook Executive 16" 12Gen

If your Slimbook has Insyde BIOS, follow these steps to activate charge limitation:
1. Access the BIOS

2. Go to "Setup Utility"

3. Navigate to the "Advanced" tab

4. Go to "Advanced chipset control"

5. Enable "FlexiCharger" to maximize battery lifespan. The greater the difference between the upper and lower percentage values, the longer the battery will last.

Charge cycles of 40% to 80% are recommended for optimal longevity.

6. Save and exit with the F10 key

If your Slimbook has AMI BIOS, follow these steps to activate charge limitation:

1. Access the BIOS

2. Navigate to the "Advanced" tab

3. Activate the "Battery Maximum Limit" option to the desired percentage. We recommend the 60% option if you're going to use it for an extended period with the AC adapter connected.

4. Save and exit with the F10 key

With FlexiCharger or Battery Maximum Limit activated, the laptop can function exclusively through the AC adapter without affecting battery charge. This avoids unnecessary charges and discharges that affect battery lifespan, which is especially useful when your Slimbook is connected to the charger for an extended period.

FlexiCharger or Battery Maximum Limit can be deactivated from the BIOS at any time, resetting the charging profile to factory settings. If you need the longest possible battery lifespan, for example, for a trip, deactivate this function in advance to charge the battery to 100%.
